Into the
quiet of the forest

Field recordings, photography, and film shaped by real places, natural sound, and quiet moments outdoors.

Three ways of experiencing place

Nordic Forest Echoes is a one-person creative project by Per, built around careful observation of the natural world. Sound, image, and film are treated as different ways of preserving atmosphere, detail, and presence.

Audio

Captures atmosphere, distance, texture, and space through real field recordings made outdoors.

Photo

Captures detail, light, mood, and small moments that give a landscape its visual identity.

Video

Captures movement, duration, and the rhythm of a place through quiet, patient observation.

Why this work is made

In a digital world filled with artificial imagery and synthetic sound, Nordic Forest Echoes is built around something simpler: real places, real atmospheres, and real recordings. Every frame is filmed on location, and every sound is captured in the field — with care, patience, and respect for the environment.

No Shortcuts

No stock footage, no synthetic ambience, and no artificial replacements. The work begins outdoors, with real light, real weather, and real sound.

Room to Breathe

Not everything needs to be fast. These projects leave space for stillness, detail, and the natural rhythm of the landscape.

The Sound of Place

Field recordings are not just background audio — they are part of the story. Wind, water, birds, and distant movement help shape the identity of each location.

Recent Echoes

A few recent examples from the three strands of the project. The front page rotates through video daily, while the archive continues to grow across sound, photography, and film.

Video of the day

Swedish Pine Forest — Wind, Birds & Stillness | NFE Slow TV #2

A not-so-quiet day in a pine forest in Västra Götaland, Sweden. The wind moves quickly through the trees at first, filling the forest with motion and energy. Later, the wind settles, smaller birds become more present in the canopy, and distant calls move through the background. Then the weather changes. Rain arrives and becomes part of the soundscape, adding a softer rhythm to the forest floor and trees. This is part of Nordic Forest Echoes: real places, real field recordings, and slow visual work from Sweden. No stock footage, no AI-generated ambience, and no synthetic nature loops.
